And there was a loud bang. Turns out...the (Canadian) government was firing howitzer guns near my house. I figured this out by going for a drive, and turning the corner only to be confronted by a bunch of guys in military fatigues with 3 or 4 howitzers.
Initially I thought it was a GC-45 Howitzer, but I was informed that Canada doesn't have any of those. (Even though GC stands for "Gun Canada", the GC 45 was generally exported to such places as Iraq and South Africa).
I think it was a M777 howitzer. But it could have also been a C3. 105 MM (edit 155MM) Ammo of course. To give you an idea that is about a 4.1 inch sized bullet. BIG GUN SHOOTS BIG THINGS!!!
It was loud. And awesome. I love our armed forces!

You're at war? Is it the Americans again or has Putin over reached himself this time?

Yeah. I took this from the Canadian Forces page on the M777. :P I don't have pics of the actual howitzers being used. Although C3's also fire 155mm.
